Happy New Year!! - CGC Trust

Happy New Year!!

We hope that you have all had a wonderful time over the festive season and that you are ready to tackle the year ahead with a new sense of energy, enthusiasm and positivity.

My daughter recently asked me what I thought was the worst feeling.  I didn’t need time to dwell on the answer to her very unusual question.  Grief and Loneliness.  Some may disagree, but these are two of the hardest feelings as far as I believe.  How do you tackle these feelings?  For everyone it is different.  But, as the manager of the centre, I would like to host monthly sessions for our elderly local residents. They can come together and enjoy a morning of socialising and perhaps playing a board game or a round of Bingo whilst sipping a cup of tea and a slice of cake.

If you would like to assist us by running these sessions, please do let us know.  Loneliness can be suffocating and as a centre for the community, we would like to bring people together, to give them something to look forward to and to make new friends.

We also have a new Grief Support Group starting at the centre.  These sessions will be run the last Thursday of every month from 7pm to 8pm. Should you wish to book, please contact us so that we can provide you with the information of the person who will be running these sessions.

Our lineup of performers for both the Open Mic night in March and Beaulieu’s Got Talent in May is starting to look very promising indeed.  If you would like to be a part of either of these events, please get in touch soon as we would love to have you join us.

Tickets to our Mad Hatters Tea Party on the 9th March, are now available to purchase on our eventbrite page (just search for CGC Trust Events).

Our guest entertainer, Bella Beserk – drag queen extraordinaire will no doubt have your undivided attention whilst you sip Prosecco and enjoy the high tea treats.  Bella is no stranger to a demanding audience, holding their attention with a mixture of hilarious comedy and charm and has performed all over the UK plus many parts of Europe & Asia.  She has also appeared on television with Ruby Wax, Alan Carr and Esther Rantzen.  So don’t miss out on this afternoon of bubbles and laughter!

We have so many more events and informative sessions planned for 2025, but as always, we would be delighted to hear what you, our community, would like us to host for you.

Until next month!

Noleen Andrews
